WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR

Job Summary

To supervise the daily operations of the BRT vehicle maintenance workshop, ensuring timely and effective servicing, repairs, inspections, and overall vehicle readiness. The Workshop Supervisor ensures that buses are maintained to safety and performance standards, while managing technical teams, spare parts, and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

  • Knowledge of bus systems (diesel, electrical, pneumatic, etc.) and diagnostic tools.

  • Proficient in interpreting service manuals, work orders, and technical documents.

  • Experience in workshop management systems is an added advantage.


  • Duties & Responsibilities


    • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all maintenance and repair activities within the workshop.

    • Assign tasks to technicians and monitor their performance and productivity.

    • Ensure routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs are completed on time.

    • Inspect and approve completed jobs for quality assurance and safety compliance.

    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and vehicle service history.

    • Monitor workshop inventory and request spare parts or tools as needed.

    • Implement and enforce health and safety standards within the workshop.

    • Train and guide workshop staff on best practices and technical standards.

    • Respond to emergency breakdowns and ensure timely corrective action.

    • Liaise with drivers, engineers, and the operations team regarding bus conditions.

    • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly workshop activity reports.
