To carry out mechanical repairs, maintenance, and inspections on BRT buses to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The mechanic will diagnose faults, repair or replace components, and support preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and service interruptions.
Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics or Vehicle Maintenance.
At least 1-2 years’ experience in repairing heavy-duty vehicles, preferably buses.
Strong knowledge of gas engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and understand service manuals and technical drawings.
Experience with diagnostic tools and computerized systems is an advantage.
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on gas buses.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems.
Conduct pre-service and post-service vehicle checks.
Use diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical issues.
Replace or repair faulty parts and ensure correct fitting and performance.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and tools.
Assist in vehicle overhauls and major component replacements.
Test vehicles after repairs to confirm problems are resolved.
Maintain service records and complete job cards accurately.
Observe all workshop safety procedures and wear protective gear.
Report any safety risks or mechanical issues to supervisors promptly
