Job Title

PROCUREMENT OFFICER

Job Summary

To manage and coordinate the sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of goods and services required by the company in a timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner. The Procurement Officer ensures transparency, accountability, and value for money in all procurement processes.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certification such as PSPTB  (added advantage).

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.

  • Good knowledge of Tanzanian Public Procurement Regulations.

  • Experience working with ERP or procurement software is an added advantage.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with company procurement procedures.

  • Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers, negotiate terms, and ensure competitive pricing.

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and public procurement laws.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.

  • Liaise with user departments to ensure timely and accurate specification of goods/services.

  • Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely receipt and inspection of items.

  • Maintain inventory levels and coordinate with stores on stock replenishment.

  • Assist in tendering processes including bid evaluation, supplier selection, and contract award.

  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving of procurement files for audits.

  • Resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, quality disputes, and payment follow-ups.

  • Prepare procurement reports and support budget forecasting.
